"Recorded during SUNN O)))s European tour 2005, culminating at Roskilde Festival, Denmark" : laissez-moi vous dire qu'il n'y a pas que cette tournée qui arrive à son point culminant mais aussi Sunn O))) d'un point de vue général car Solstitium Fulminate, qui sert d'appendice à Black One, est un monument qui conjugue noirceur vampirique avec une certaine forme d'absolu. Le ton musical plonge très vite dans les graves pour nous faire entrer dans le royaume de la mort. Attila Csihar est un Charon.

Le message est tout de suite clair avec Sunn O))) : le drone des sorciers de Seattle ne peut pas se dérouler sur un format de trois ou quatre minutes. Mais même en prenant ça en compte, il y a un certain sens de la provocation : The Grimmrobe Demos était déjà plus longue qu'un album courant, Sunn O))) en remet une couche avec une extension d'une heure. D'un autre côté, après un tel voyage dans les abysses galactiques, il est difficile de redescendre : cette extension est pile ce qu'il fallait !
