GRANOLITHIC

Lost Tribe Sound I'm a little slow on finding ORE and all his murky, gaseous, forward-thinking explorations into the tuba. This is the stuff that is so hard to find, brass that stays focused on massive, non-noodling, sans-cheese environments. Never heard tuba given center stage like this, the resulting music works as both low-tone droning healers as much as bellowing doom-casting dirges. I think if this album would have released in 2020, it would have be received 100 times more attention.

about

ORE UK

ORE is the drone, doom tuba sound of Sam Underwood.

For me, playing the tuba was the first time I really felt a connection – in every sense – with a musical instrument. An extension of my own pipework; my resonant frequency. A truly physical instrument to play. ... more
